Outdoor project commissioned by the Municipality of Patras
in the frame of the Opening Ceremony – Patras Carnival 2023

ABSTRACT

Drawing inspiration from the elements of nature, Spyros Kouvaras sets up an “imaginary garden” specifically designed for the Opening Ceremony of Patras Carnival 2023. From the smallest organism to the largest mountain range, from the simple plays of children to the motion of galaxies, everything that moves participates in life. The choreographer and his company present a mixed-media performative show of movement, image and sound in which terrestrial and aerial dancers, multi-layered video projections and lighting reflections will interact kaleidoscopically, building a collective journey, a renaissance elegy for the present and the future of our world.
